dale, hue's father (not our son), was hit by a car yesterday.

it doesn't sound real, to write or voice out loud, but it's true. he is 74 years old and walks two hours a day. he was up at 7am for an early amble of the neighborhood. he crossed the street on a walk light and mid-way through a vehicle turned left into his crosswalk and promptly knocked him six feet away.
he was in and out of consciousness when the police arrived, so subsequent details are unknown, but the driver of the offending vehicle did stop to help. we should get the police report in two weeks to see what they documented.
meanwhile, dale went to the local hospital and had a normal ct scan and was monitored for a bit before being sent home. he suffered multiple bruises and had to have a few stitches in his scalp, but appears to be doing well. thank God he is so resilient.
